BEMIDJI, Minn. -- Sophomore distance runner Mary Goodwin opened the Bemidji State University track & field outdoor season by breaking her own record in the 3000-meter steeplechase at the USD Early Bird meet. The majority of BSU's student-athletes competed in Vermillion, S.D., while three took part in the Cougar Open Saturday.
Goodwin previously set Bemidji State's record in the 3000m steeplechase at the 2021 Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Championships with a time of 11:44.82. She finished seventh in the event with a time of 11:35.09 at the USD Early Bird.
Bemidji State finished with seven top-10 finishes, including a third-place finish by sophomore sprinter Alaina Hall in the 100m dash with a time of 12.23. She also took 10th in the 200m dash with a personal record time of 25.67.
Senior jumper Analise Fabre earned seventh place in the triple jump with a mark of 37-feet-00.50-inches. Junior thrower Tierra Doss brought home a 10th-place finish in the shot put with a mark of 43-feet-07-inches.
Megan Judge, Anastasia Klein and Olivia Olson each traveled to the Cougar Open in Morris, Minn., as the trio swept the top three spots in the pole vault. Judge earned the win in the pole vault with a personal record leap of 10-02.00.
The Beavers combined to set 30 personal record marks.
