BURNSVILLE, Minn. – For the first time in her career, Bemidji State University Women's Soccer junior goalkeeper
Edie Frantzen has been named the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Goalkeeper of the Week for the final week of regular season play.

Frantzen earns the NSIC weekly accolade for the first time in her career after she stopped a career-high seven saves to help preserve a 1-0 shutout over University of Minnesota Duluth and secure the fourth seed in the NSIC Women's Soccer Tournament.

The Rogers, Minn., made all seven saves in the second half to help preserve her ninth clean sheet of the season and earn the Beavers home field advantage in the first round of the conference tournament. She also faced seven corner kicks during the match and denied the Bulldogs on each one of their set pieces.

Frantzen is joined by St. Cloud State University's Ellie Pimerano as the Offensive Player of the Week and Winona State University's Callie Menzel as the Defensive Player of the Week.

She is the first BSU goalkeeper to earn the award since
Alyssa Stumbaugh on Nov. 1, 2021.

Frantzen and the rest of the Beaver Soccer squad begin postseason play this afternoon by hosting Augustana University for the first round of the NSIC Women's Soccer Tournament at 3 p.m.
