MOORHEAD, Minn. – The Bemidji State University Women's Track and Field team came away with eight top-five finishes, highlighted by a pair of second-place results by Tierra Doss Saturday at the Ron Masanz Classic.
Doss hit a new season-best distance in the discus of 141-9 to come in second. She then added another runner-up result in the shot put of 45-3.5.
The 4x100 relay team of Olivia Olson, Abbie Disbrow, Natalie Fultz and Abby Syverson came in second with a time of 50.38.
Olson and Anastasia Klein each cleared 10-00.50 in the pole vault with Olson coming in second and Klein in fourth. Olson then added another top-five finish coming in fourth in the 100-meter with a time of 12.63.
Syverson hit a new personal-best in the 200-meter coming in third with a time of 26.13.
Callie Ressler rounded out the group of top-five finishes coming in fifth in the 3,000-meter steeplechase with a time of 13:07.70 for a new PR.
The Beavers had four total competitors in the 100-meter in addition to Olson, Fultz came in seventh with a time of 12.95, Lily Johnson was right behind in eighth with a time of 13.42 and Amanda Smith in 12th with a time of 13.84.
Fultz just missed a top-five finish in the 200-meter behind Syverson coming in sixth with a time of 26.87 for a new PR. Josie Aitken was right behind in seventh with a new PR time of 27.09. Johnson came in 11th with a new PR time of 28.30.
Syverson and Aitken both competed in the 400-meter with Syverson coming in sixth with a time of 1:01.06 and Aitken in seventh with a time of 1:02.79.
Maggie McCarthy placed sixth in the 800-meter with a time of 2:32.72.
Carol Miller posted a time of 5:09.89 to come in 11th in the 1,500-meter. Nadia Vaughn hit a new PR time of 5:12.02 in the event to place 14th.
Zayda Priebe collected a new PR in the discus reaching a distance of 127-02. Cassidy Schmidt had a throw of 106-04 to come in 13th. Alyssa Hill placed 19th with a throw of 101-02 and Alexis Gehrig came in 23rd with a time of 96-00.
Fultz cleared 4-10.25 in the high jump to come in ninth.
Amanda Smith led the Beavers in the javelin coming in 10th with a new PR distance of 97-10. Mikenna Pattrin came in 12th hitting a distance of 94-08. Johnson tallied a new PR with a distance of 85-08. Gehrig added a new PR distance of 78-00 to come in 17th.
Hill hit a new PR distance in the shot put reaching 36-04.75 to come in 10th. Pattrin was right behind in 11th with a distance of 35-02.50. Priebe came in 12th with a distance of 34-02.25. It was a new PR distance for Schmidt reaching 32-00.25 to come in 17th.
The Beavers will return to action this coming Friday when they will compete in the NDSU Tune Up in Fargo, N.D.
