ST. PAUL, Minn. – Tierra Doss and Mary Goodwin opened the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Championships in style by placing in the top-three to earn All-NSIC honors on Friday. The Bemidji State University Women's Track and Field team began the championships competing in nine events at Sea Foam Stadium in St. Paul, Minn.
Doss was second in the NSIC coming in and finished in second-place on Friday in the shot put. Doss hit a distance of 46-1.25 to collect her All-NSIC accolade.
Goodwin was second in the NSIC coming in and placed third in the 3,000-meter steeplechase. Goodwin posted a time of 11:01.47 to collect her All-NSIC accolade.
In addition to Doss competing in the shot put, Mikenna Pattrin reached a new personal-best mark of 37-11.50 to come in 21st. Alyssa Hill added a new PR of 37-5.00 to place 22nd.
In addition to Goodwin competing in the steeplechase, Maggie McCarthy came in 18th with a time of 12:22.82. Nadia Vaughn placed 19th with a time of 12:54.74. Callie Ressler hit a new PR time of 13:04.40 to come in 23rd.
Lexi Erickson qualified for the finals in the 1,500-meter. Erickson posted a time of 4:44.10 to finish 12th and qualify for the final on Saturday. Goodwin hit a time of 4:57.80 to come in 15th. Carol Miller was just a few spots back in 17th coming in with a time of 5:02.68.
Erickson also competed in the 800-meter prelims, coming in 17th with a time of 2:19.20.
Natalie Fultz and Lily Johnson both competed in the 400-meter hurdles prelims. Fultz posted a time of 1:04.73 to come in 10th and just miss advancing to the finals. Johnson crossed at 1:09.30 to place 16th.
Abby Syverson recorded a new PR time in the 400-meter prelim coming in at 59.45 to place 14th.
Pattrin and Alexis Gehrig each competed in the hammer. Pattrin came in 15th with a throw of 145-8. Gehrig reached a new PR distance of 136-4 to place 24th.
Fultz cleared 4-10.25 in the high jump to place 22nd.
Olivia Olson and Anastasia Klein each entered in the pole vault. It was a new season-high mark for Olson when she cleared 10-6.25 to place 11th. Klein also cleared 10-6.25 to come in 14th.
