ST. PAUL, Minn. – It was a great midweek meet for the Bemidji State University Women's Track and Field team as they collected 11 top-five results at the St. Thomas Twilight on Wednesday in St. Paul, Minn.
Tierra Doss won the shot put, saving her best throw for last reaching 46-5.25 for a new PR and improved provisional. Zayda Priebe came in ninth with a throw of 35-0.25. Alyssa Hill placed right behind Priebe in 10th hitting a distance of 34-11. Cassidy Schmidt came in 20th with a throw of 31-1.25.
Doss came in second in the discus with a throw of 139-3. Priebe came in fourth hitting a mark of 124-2. Hill came in seventh with a throw of 118-0. Schmidt hit a distance of 103-0 to come in 12th. Alexis Gehrig rounded out the group coming in 15th with a throw of 95-7.
It was a new season-best for the 4x100 relay team of Olivia Olson, Abbie Disbrow, Natalie Fultz and Abby Syverson coming in second with a time of 49.42.
Fultz, Syverson, Johnson and Aitken competed in the 4x400 relay posting a new season-best time of 3:59.82 to come in second.
Carol Miller hit a new personal-best time of 5:00.05 in the 1,500-meter to come in 25th.
Fultz hit a new PR time coming in third in the 400-meter hurdles coming in at 1:04.20. Johnson added a new PR time as well coming in fourth with a time of 1:08.96.
Fultz added another top-three result in the high jump clearing 5-1 to come in third.
Syverson led three Beavers in the 400-meter coming in with a new PR time of 59.64 to place fifth. Aitken also posted a new PR with a time of 1:00.31 to come in 10th. Running the 400 for the first time this outdoor season, Lexi Erickson came in 12th with a time of 1:00.69.
Olson led the Beavers in the 100-meter with a new personal-best time of 12.77 to come in 10th. Amanda Smith placed 33rd with a time of 14.25.
Anastasia Klein and Olson both competed in the pole vault. Klein came in fifth clearing 10-8.25. Olson came in sixth clearing 10-2.5.
Gehrig and Mikenna Pattrin placed seventh and eighth, respectively in the hammer. Gehrig reached a new PR distance with a throw of 136-2 and Pattrin hit 135-1.
Pattrin led three Beavers in the javelin placing fifth with a new PR distance of 113-3. Smith added a new PR distance of 98-2 to come in sixth. Johnson added to the group of hitting PR marks with a new distance of 93-0 to place eighth.
Bemidji State continues the week traveling to Fargo, N.D., on Friday to compete in the NDSU Tune Up starting at 12 p.m.
