BEMIDJI, Minn. – The Bemidji State University Cross Country team travels to Minot, N.D. to take part in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Preview Saturday, hosted by Minot State University.
The Beavers have had a three-week break from competition after racing in the Minnesota State University Moorhead Dragon Twilight Sep. 13. The Beavers took third out of 13 teams during the 5,000-meter race.
Maggie McCarthy led the Beavers, landing herself in 18
th place. Additionally, four Beavers grabbed personal-best times,
Carol Miller with a time of 19:39.02,
Sophie Rylance with 19:56.868,
Sydnie Price at 21:58.4 and
Ava Werner finishing at 22:58.8.
This weekend will mark the first 6,000-meter race for the Beavers since they competed in the Jimmie Invitational Oct. 6, 2023. The Beavers finished the race in fifth place out of 11 teams.
Maggie McCarthy marked the highest finish of returning Beavers at 20
th with a time of 23:45.5.
Carol Miller and
Nadia Vaughn also finished in the top 50 with Miller taking 30
th and Vaughn marking 43
rd.
This weekend's race will take place at the Souris Valley Golf Course in Minot, N.D. The women's race is scheduled to begin at 2:45 p.m. Saturday. Live timing is available via
