BEMIDJI, Minn. – Bemidji State University Director of Athletics
Britt Lauritsen announced Thursday that
Ben Corbid has been hired as the new head coach of the Bemidji State Men's Golf program.
"We are excited to welcome Ben in this new chapter of his Beaver journey," said Lauritsen. "As a student-athlete, he was a fixture in our lineup, and as an assistant, his technical expertise gave our student-athletes a competitive edge in every competition. We are thrilled to see him bring that same passion and high golf IQ in a head coaching capacity and continue to elevate Beaver golf to the next level."
Corbid previously served as the team's Assistant Coach for the past two seasons at BSU and was a student-athlete for the Beavers from 2018-23. Corbid captained the Beavers in 2022-23 helping the Beavers win the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference Championship and returned to the NCAA Super Regional as a team for the first time since 2012.
"I'm incredibly honored and excited to lead this program and continue building something special with our student-athletes," said Corbid. "The opportunity to grow the culture and compete at a high level is something I'm truly passionate about."
A member of the Beaver Men's Golf program for five seasons as a student-athlete and one as a member of its coaching staff, Corbid knows the program well. He also brings professional experience outside of the BSU ranks after serving as the Head Golf Professional at Headwaters Golf Club in Park Rapids, Minn. The Stillwater, Minn., native also served as a Golf Operation Intern at the world-class Pebble Beach Golf Course in Pebble Beach, Calif.
Corbid graduated from Bemidji State with a Bachelor's of Science degree in Business Administration and was an All-NSIC Second Team and GCAA All-Academic Team selection during his time as a student-athlete.
