In 1980, the Bemidji State men's hockey team captured its seventh NAIA national championship in St. Paul, Minn. with a 4-3 victory over Michigan-Dearborn. The team's second consecutive national title capped a 24-8-0 season led by captain Dale Baldwin, who set the program's all-time record for goals in a season with 43 that winter. Baldwin was joined by Carleton and Gary Krawchuck as captains.
