Carol Stomberg graduated from Bemidji State University in 1974 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Education, majoring in Physical Education, Health, and Coaching. After graduation, Carol was a substitute teacher for about two years and also coached basketball at North Hennepin Community College for one year. She returned to school in 1975-76 and earned a certificate as a Respiratory Therapist from Anoka Technical College and spent three years working in the field. In 1978 Carol accepted a position with the Minneapolis Medical Research Foundation to teach home Hemodialysis. Carol did this for eight years along with completing a nursing degree from Minneapolis Community College in 1983. She continued to work in the field of nephrology by accepting a management position at a free-standing dialysis unit and, in 1996, she accepted a position as Director of Dialysis Services for Kidney Disease & Critical Care. Her responsibilities included overseeing five dialysis units and managing approximately one hundred employees. In 2000, Carol continued her employment with KDCC when she accepted a position to follow post-renal transplant patients and has worked in that position to date. She lives in the northern suburbs of Minneapolis on a hobby farm. She played Women's Basketball, Volleyball, Field Hockey, and Tennis. She was also on the female all 30th team.
