Bill Bryand graduated from Bemidji State in 1985 with a degree in physical education. While at BSU, Bill was a four-year standout on the football team, serving as co-captain his junior and senior seasons. He was the annual team tackle leader all four years and the annual pass defense leader his junior year. He holds the BSU career record for solo tackles (146), season (94) and career assisted tackles (326) and season and career total tackles at 139 and 472. His junior year he was selected as the Defensive MVP and Team MVP, the St. Paul Pioneer Press MVP and made the All-Conference team. His senior year also garnered him honors, including being named NIC Player of the Week twice and Defensive Player of the Year.

Following graduation, Bill began a teaching and coaching career that has spanned 21 years. He has since earned his masters degree in education and principal licensure, both from St. Mary’s University. Bill taught in the Minneapolis school system for over 20 years focusing on physical education for grades K-5.

He and his wife, Nancy, have two daughters, Nicole and Breanna, and make their home in Blaine, Minn.
