Les Drechsel was a single sport athlete while at BSU, he lettered in Football, from 1951-54. Was named All-NIC Football, 1953-54. After his time at BSU Les became a football coach and coached 8 Conference Football Champions. He had 4 undefeated football seasons, 1960, 61, 64, 65.  Due to his coaching success he was named Twice Region 8 Coach of the Year.  Was the 1974 All-Star Football Coach. Win Strings of 23 and 24 Games. 1971 President Minnesota Football Coaches Association.
