Ronald was a letter winner in football from 1963-66 as a fullback. He was named the team's Most Valuable Player in 1966, also earning selections to the all-conference and All-American Honorable Mention teams. Following his collegiate career, Ronald coached high school football and wrestling. He led his athletes to 23 state finishes and nine state championships in wrestling. Ronald was named the Regional Coach of the Year in 1984 and 1991, and Michigna Class B Coach of the Year in 1981.
