Hall of Fame
A 1968 graduate of BSU, John "Dan" Bergan was a member of the BSU Men's Baseball Team from 1964 to 1968, and served as captain his senior year. He was the NIC strikeout leader in 1966 and is the third place record holder for most career wins as a pitcher. He was also a member of the NIC All-Conference Team in 1966. He currently teaches English at Hibbing High School. Dan was also inducted into the Hibbing High School Athletic Hall of Fame this year. He was a National Humanities Fellow in 1991, a Minnesota Writers Grant Recipient from 1986 to 1988, and has been an Associate Baseball Scout for Los Angeles Dodgers.
